Outback Travel Australia is testing the latest Bendix brake pads and linings on its LandCruiser 75 Series project vehicle. The Bendix 4WD/SUV pads are designed to cope with the water, dust and mud contamination that’s usual around bush travel vehicles’ brakes.
The pads have drainage grooves to help disperse water, grit and dust from between the friction surfaces and the discs.
Early impressions of the new braking configuration are very good, according to OTA website www.outbacktravelaustralia.com.au publisher Allan Whiting: “The pads have strong progressive feel and ultimate stopping power is excellent,” he said.
Allan is already off to his next 4WD Adventure so we’ll catch up with him in a few months to find out what he thinks of his new set of 4WD/SUV pads.
