Why Should I Upgrade My Brakes?
If you're planning on modifying your 4WD/ute or using it for off-roading or towing, your standard, OE brakes won't cut it.
Once additional accessories or loads are added (e.g. bull bar, winch, roof rack, camping equipment, tools, etc.), the extra weight can reach up to 400kg.
In turn, braking performance deteriorates, extending the distance needed to brake to a halt and risking both yourself and your vehicle.
Off-roading and towing also generate extra heat, resulting in a higher chance of brakes weakening while travelling up or down steep or uneven terrain.
To make sure you can take on any challenge, we developed the Ultimate 4WD™ Big Brake Upgrade Kit as the ultimate safety upgrade.

The rear kit also contains a full drum to disc conversion kit. Unlike brake drums, disc brake rotors continue to perform well when wet, enabling safe driving in off-road conditions, river crossings, etc.
Ultimate 4WD™ Brake Pads
Designed for tough Australian conditions, Ultimate 4WD™ Brake Pads are made from a high-tech, ceramic formulation, providing increased stopping power and control, which reduces the distance needed to brake to a halt.
As with all Bendix pads, low dust and low noise are guaranteed.
Ultimate 4WD™ Disc Brake Rotors
Ultimate 4WD™ rotors offer increased heat resistance and expel gas, dirt and water more efficiently, resulting in greater durability and instant response when braking in extreme conditions.
These rotors also feature an industry-first SwiftCheck™ rotor wear indicator and SwiftFit™ anti-corrosion coating.
Ultimate 4WD™ Brake Hoses
Feeling that your brakes work is just as important.
Unlike rubber hoses, the Ultimate 4WD™ braided brake hoses don’t expand under pressure, ensuring all your braking force is delivered straight to your callipers, which results in a firmer, more responsive pedal feel.
Bendix Calipers
Bendix 6-Piston Monoblock Calipers come with extra pistons, which apply greater pressure to the brake pads, resulting in a shorter stopping distance.
Product Comparison
An unmodified PX series Ford Ranger requires 41.5 metres to stop from 80km/h.
The same Ford Ranger fitted with the Bendix Big Brake upgrades (front & drum-to-disc rear) came to a complete stop in 32.5 metres from 80km/h.
An improvement of 9 metres or 1.5 car lengths!
