When the Toyota Camry / Aurion V40 generation was introduced in 2006, Toyota increased the front disc size from 275mm to 296mm, though still using a similar caliper design with different
mountings. While both DB1474, used in the Toyota Camry V30 and DB2243, used in the Toyota Camry / Aurion V40, will fit in the caliper, there is a small difference in the friction material size and
position on the backing plate to ensure correct contact with the disc.
As you can see in the image below, if you line up the pads on the ears where they locate in the caliper, the friction material sits higher on DB1474 and will overhang the edge of the 296mm disc, and is not deep enough to sweep the whole width of the rubbing surface of the disc.
