Bendix General CT
beats noise problem for Melbourne workshop owner

When Melbourne workshop owner, James Feth, began trying to rectify a brake noise problem on a valued customer’s car, he had no idea that four hours of frustration lay ahead of him.
James had fitted an inferior, competitor pad to the early model Commodore, but says the decision wasted both his time as well as his money.
"I tried absolutely everything to reduce the noise that the competitor pads - DB1085 - were making. I centre-punched the backing plate in the corners. I tried grinding edges on the material and using Disc Brake Quiet. When none of these strategies worked I tried adjusting the wheel bearings, checking the caliper housings and anti-rattle clips."
"After about four hours trying everything I could think of to reduce the noise being produced by these brake pads, I went out and bought a set of Bendix General CT pads. As soon as I’d fitted them the brake noise problem was completely and immediately resolved!"
As one Melbourne mechanic found out recently, fitting Bendix General CT the first time could have saved him hours of wasted time.
James tried everything to reduce the noise on the competitor's pad including grinding edges, centre-punching the backing plate and using Disc Brake Quiet.
James Feth of JAF Autos in Hoppers Crossing says he bought a set of competitor brake pads, and fitted them to the early model Commodore of a valued customer.
"They were really noisy," explains James, who says he went to great lengths to reduce the noise levels in order to retain his valued client’s business.
"I tried absolutely everything to reduce the noise that the competitor pads (DB1085 most commonly fitted to early model Holden Commodores) were making. I centre-punched the backing plate in the corners. I tried grinding edges on the material and using CRC Disc Brake Quiet. When none of these strategies worked I tried adjusting the wheel bearings, checking the caliper housings and anti-rattle clips." In desperation, James called the pad supplier, but was advised that it couldn’t be the pad that was at fault.
"After about four hours trying everything I could think of to reduce the noise being produced by these brake pads, I went out and bought a set of Bendix General CT pads. As soon as I'd fitted them the noise brake problem was completely and immediately resolved!"
James says his experience has shown him the value of Bendix General CT pads.
"Now they're all I use,” he says. “I want the confidence that the product I fit is going to work effectively and quietly every time, and not cause my customers problems."
JAF Motors is a general mechanical workshop with a strong repeat customer base.
"My business has a good reputation and most of my customers are repeats. I have a quality selection of regular clients and I want to keep it that way. With Bendix General CT at least I know the brake pads I'm fitting for my customers are the very best on the market."
